Our First Christmas

Well our first Christmas has come and gone and it was such a great day for Mark and I. We had our first experience of playing Santa to the girls and they spent the day in wonder and excitement. We spent the morning together before YaYa and Papouli came over. Then it was off to Babci and Dziadziu's house for lunch and presents. It was such a treat to have Ciocia Paula with us on Christmas because she is usually in St. Louis visiting family. At night we went to Aunt Nancy's house to spend time with Luke, Kelly, and Zachary before they went back to Texas the next day.

The girls schedule is all messed up now but it was a wonderful day with family. Yesterday the girls had an audition with Baby Gap so we went to Boston for that. The rest of our vacation is all about rest and relaxation (what ever that is) so that we can all get back on track.

Talking up a storm

The girls have been talking up a storm lately. Today we came home and they are saying "up", "down" (Thanks to Ciocia Val and Paula). Isabelle will say up and Sophie Rose will follow with down. Not only are they saying the words but they put their hands up and down. What smart girls we have!!!!!!!!!!

Another snowy day

It is snowing again today. The girls first birthday party is going to be on January 5 at Babci's house. We are going with a JoJo's Circus theme and it should be really fun. The girls are doing really great with eating real food. They love mac and chesse (not with bacon yet Anutie Julie), pasta rings with meat sauce, and grilled chesse. We are going to move Isabelle's crib back into the nursery during Christmas break which should be an adventure. They are really interacting with eachother alot lately so I think that it will be fun for them to be together in the same room. Isabelle Grace is doing really well with walking. Sometimes she gets really brave and takes a stroll across the living room. Sophie Rose loves to practice walking with her walker and goes pretty fast. Miss belle is finally feeling like her old self again and her bum looks 1000X better, thank God for that. Hopefully this last week of school in 2007 will be fash and uneventful.

Our first storm of the season

Today we are getting pounded with snow. Mark had early dismissal at 11:30 and I was out by 1(it took me about an hour to get home). We ended up taking the girls out in the snow with their snow suits on. They did not enjoy being in the snow but had a great time looking around at the transformed yard. I can't wait until they are older and we can play in the snow..

Happy Winter!!!!!!!!!

Here are some recent pictures of the girls playing around the house. Sophie Rose is in her fort and Isabelle Grace is peaking up from the coffee table

Baby Belle's Bum

We brought Baby Belle to see Dr.Tartell on Monday for her bum. She gave her some medicine and she is alot better. When I got home on Monday I was so upset about Isabelle and then I see Sophie and Belle running around the couch playing with eachother. They were laughing and screaming so loud. It made my day!!!!!!!!!!! Then Baby Belle took 7 steps on her own. I could not believe it!!!!!!!!!!She was taking up to 11 steps on her own by the end of the day.

Sophie Rose is getting more lovey by the day. She gives hugs and loves to everything now. Her blankie, animal friends, and Dada and I. She is such a sweet girl.

They are starting to get really excited to be with eachother and see eachother throughout the day. They will sit down in the afternoon now and look at books together for a good 5-10 minutes before they get on the move again. It is really sweet to see them interact more and have their own personalities show more and more each day.

Baby Belle

My poor Baby Belle. She has had an ear infection for over two months and has been on antibiotics for 15 days. Now she has such a bad diaper rash that we can't even touch it to put cream on. This was the first day since I have returned to work that I broke down . I can't be at work when the girls are sick but I can't stay home all the time either. She was crying so much when I left today and it set the tone for the rest of the day. Anyway, it is last period Math and thank God the kids have a test to finish. They are such good kids anyway that it would not matter if they had a test or not they would be good. I am taking Isabelle to the doctors at 4 today. Hopefuylly something can be done for her bum.

Our first year......

Sophie Rose and Isabelle Grace were born. I never thought that I could feel a love like I feel for my daughters. Unlike most parents, I didn't think they were perfect (heck, one of them looked like me) but they were cute as hell, and helpless to boot. It's a weird thing when someone else's life is exclusively in your hands. Both hands. Or both arms in my case. I look at the first picture I took with my daughters, and I had one in each crook of my arms. When my wife told me she thought she was pregnant I was disbelieving, hesitant, scared, stupid. Strangely, I felt more prepared to be a father when I learned that we were having twins. If I was going to do this, I may as well go all out...that's how I'd always lived. On my first date with my wife, I knew that she would be the one. Why waste time. We started dating in May, and were engaged in December. Back to the girls. Sometimes, I look at them really close. At their faces. And their eyes. The wonder in them. The happiness they feel when they discover something new. A window, their reflection. My nose (which has been Miss Belle's new thing). I think, how can their wonder be my wonder as well? How can I rediscover things? Am I rediscovering? Or am I actually seeing things clearly for the first time? They will be a year old soon, and before I had children, I swore that I would never say, " my kids are 12 months old" or " 13 months." They're ONE. From January 2, 2008 until January 2, 2009 my kids will be ONE. And now that I have kids, I'm sticking to it!
